Biographical Note for Louchheim, Stuart (1892-1971) :

Stuart Fleischer Louchheim was born in 1892 to Joseph A. Louchheim, a clothing manufacturer, and Theresa F. Louchheim, in Philadelphia, PA. After serving as a major in the U.S. Army during the First World War, he was successful as a businessman and patron of the arts in addition to his work as a composer. His best-known work, "Mixed Emotions," was recorded by Ella Fitzgerald and Dinah Washington, among others.
