Series three, Administrative Papers, houses applications for accreditation, college policies, fellowship documents, grant applications, articles and ephemera.

Scope and Contents of the Materials

This collection begins by documenting the professional careers of many of the College of Business faculty and staff. Series one illuminates the terms of professors, teaching assistants and teaching fellows through correspondence and position offerings as well as provides insight to how successful and/or likeable their teaching methods were. Notable individuals such as former Dean, O.J. Curry, Dr. J.B. Spalding and Dr. Michael Vanecek have extensive material representation.

The ready reference portion of this collection features brochures, bulletins, articles and announcements designed to highlight and entice current and prospective students into taking and/or learning about particular programs, events and courses the College of Business offered.

Finally, the Administrative Papers of series three offer a brief history of the accomplishments, certifications, and memberships the College of Business has achieved. Additionally, various accreditations and college reports are  available that document the rising status of the University of North Texas' Business School.

Collection Historical Note

Mission: "To prepare global business leaders and scholars in an intellectually stimulating and engaging community through preeminent teaching, research, and service." - UNT College of Business

The University of North Texas first boasted of a business school in 1946 under the name of the School of Business Administration where Dr. Othel Jackson (O.J) Curry served as the director and dean until 1969. The School of Business Administration was granted its first accreditation in 1961 by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) and one of the original applications dated January 10, 1958 is available in this collection. At the time, only one other Texas university had been accredited by the AACSB; the University of Texas at Austin. Additionally, at the time of its accreditation the School of Business Administration was ranked second in the state and 11th nation-wide for the number of undergraduate degrees offered. In October of 1971, the school changed its name to the College of Business Administration.

As of 2017, the College of Business Administration is ranked amongst the top 30 largest business school in America and offers 16 undergraduate degrees, 22 MBA/MS programs, and 7 PH.D programs.
