Scope and Contents of the Materials

The collection consists of two boxes of photos, band parts, and saxophone method books from Robert L. Marquis, Jr., dating from his time with the Aces of Collegeland.

Biographical Note

Son of UNT president Robert Lincoln Marquis. The junior Marquis was active in the Aces of Collegeland group - a forerunner to UNT's lab bands - as a tenor saxophonist.
