This collection contains physical and digitized newspapers published by the Dallas Voice, as well as materials and publications produced by Voice Publishing, Inc.
The Dallas Voice newspaper has been continuously published since 1984 and is the first newspaper to represent and serve the Dallas, Texas, LGBT community. New issues are published on Fridays, with a circulation of 20,000 papers per week in Dallas, Tarrant, Collin, and Denton counties. The paper claims a print readership of more than 50,000 weekly readers. It is published by the Voice Publishing Company, Inc.

Scope and Contents: This collection contains original and digitized versions of weekly newspaper issues published by the Dallas Voice and its parent publisher, Voice Publishing, Inc. Issues consist of local, state, and national news and stories, as well as advertising that is of interest to the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) community in North Texas. These issues by Dallas Voice span from 1984 to 2012. Additional materials and publications produced by Voice Publishing, Inc., pertaining to Dallas Pride, Dallas Voice- Wedding magazine, and OUT North Texas, an annual LGBT welcome guide by the Dallas Voice and Visit Dallas, are also included. These materials and issues span from 2014 to 2019.
