Brief Description: The collection consists of one box of instantaneous sound discs of radio programs and live performances featuring the Moonmaids and the Swingtet (sometimes "Swingtette"), which was the forerunner to the Moonmaids at the University of North Texas. A few related performers (Page Cavanaugh Trio) are also present.

Biographical Note for Moon Maids (Musical group) : The Moon Maids achieved fame with Vaughn Monroe and his band in the late 1940s. Before that, they were known as the Swingtet at the North Texas State Teachers College (now the University of North Texas), performing in and around Denton, and on radio in Dallas.
