Material consists of the original diary of Captain Lee Baldwin as well as the unpublished manuscript of Corregidor Wife. Biographical Information:

Captain Lee Baldwin fought in World War II where he was captured by the Japanese on Corregidor. During his time as a prisoner, he kept a diary which was later recreated as a manuscript by his wife which contains their experiences during the war, at home and abroad.

Scope and Contents

This collection consists of letters from the Philippines by Captain Lee Baldwin to his wife Aileen, the diary he kept after he was captured by the Japanese on Corregidor, and the manuscript, Corregidor Wife, written by Aileen about her husband's experiences in the war and her life and work on the homefront.
