This collection of prints from Robert B. Toulouse was given to the University of North Texas College of Visual Arts and Design. Some prints are reproductions by commercial printing companies. Engravings based on the images of Hogarth are featured along with other images which appear to be from lithographs. Hogarth images include those from the
Fine art prints in the form of engavings or etchings by printers such as Giovanni Battista Piranesi (1720-1778) and Luigi Rossini (1790-1857) are also part of this collection. These prints are either original or they are prints which were hand pulled directly from the original plates using printer's ink. The recessed impression from the plate is visible on the paper.
Contains reproductions from Hogarth's Industry and Idleness series of images. Reproductions by J.D. Harding, E.E. Batty, C. Stanfield, Megard, Rowlandson and R. Grassi,Tho. H. Shepherd/J. Tingle, T. Barber/Hay and a reproduction of The Bathos from Hogarth are also included. The reproductions are glued to a cardboad backing.
Incudes prints or reproductions. The first three prints may be from the Industrious Prentice series of images by William Hogarth. The fourth is a print of "The Dogana, Venice, from the picture in the royal collection," by J.B. Allen, sculpt. Accession #: 2018-047. Also includes prints or reproductions of Ravenna: Basilica di San Vitale and Cottafavi's Interno dell'Anfiteatro Flavio Detto Il Colisseo.
Contains five reproductions or lithograph prints by B. Waterhouse Hawkins.
Contains two Giovanni Battista Piranesi prints (Veduta delle Cascatelle a Tivoli, 1769, and Veduta della Cascata di Tivoli, 1766) which are matted and mounted to hardboard. NOTE: If requested, these items may require special delivery instructions and/or assistance due to size.
Contains engravings or etchings by Giovanni Battista Piranesi (Veduta delle Terme di Tito or View of the Baths of Titus, 1775-1780) and Luigi Rossini (Veduta della Fornice de Consoli Dolabella, 1821).
