Administrative History:

The National Republican Congressonal Committee (NRCC) is a political committee that supports the election of Republicans to the United States House of Representatives. The organization was founded in 1886, when the Republican caucuses of the House and Senate formed a Congressional Committee.

This collection was donated by the Zuleika C. Scott family to the Dallas Public Library and transferred to the UNT Music Library at an unknown time. In December 2012, the collection was transferred from the Music Library to the UNT Library.

Access to film strips is limited to digitally reformatted copies when available. Training in the use of the 35 mm film strip projector is required prior to viewing film strips in their original format. Please contact the UNT Media Library to arrange an appointment.

Arrangement of Materials:

This collection was arranged into folders based on the title of the film strip presentation.

One folder includes audio accompaniment that does not have associated film strips or documentation.

Scope and Contents

Contains correspondence, scripts, 35 mm film strips, and sound recordings created by the National Republican Congressional Committee (ca. 1952-1954). Audiovisual materials include (11) eleven vinyl records and (9) nine 35 mm film strips. Materials were produced for political campaigns and cover topics including Communism, Socialism, inflation, taxes, Korea, and defense spending.
