Linda Jebavy Mitchell was a long time friend of Bill Nelson. She personally knew many members of the LGBT organizations in Dallas throughout the 1980s and early 1990s as a result of her association with Bill Nelson. She is regarded as an ally who worked alongside her friend and colleague, Bill Nelson, to fight discrimination during the AIDS epidemic.
