Abstract
The Jenks Beaman (died 1848) papers span 1838-1848, encompassing his education and involvement in the Mexican-American War (1846-1848).
Scope and Contents of the Materials
Jenks Beaman was a West Point graduate and 2nd Lieutenant. He was a member of the 4th Infantry Artillery during the Mexican-American War, known as the Mexican War.. This collection of papers contains orders, appointments, depositions, correspondence, and requisition muster rolls. Future Civil War generals signed several of the documents: Samuel Cooper, Charles P. Kingsbury, William Maynadier, Robert H. K. Whiteley, Benjamin Huger, Henry Moses Judah, and Ulysses S.
