Abstract

A collection of publications, programs, correspondence and clippings that document Eva Darby's time while a student at North Texas State Teachers College (now the University of North Texas).

Scope and Contents of the Materials

The material in this collection was collected between 1936 and 1940.  It reflects the activities of college life: athletic events, oragizations, friends, and programs for performances on campus.

Biographical Note

Eva Darby Woodcock was born on April 8, 1918 to Clyde and Ruth Darby of Grand Saline, Texas.  She graduated from North Texas State Teachers College (now the University of North Texas) in 1940, with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Education.  During her time at college she belonged to the Gammadions, Junior Mary Ardens and Senior Mary Ardens. She was a teacher.  Later Ms. Wookcock was the owner of Darby Department Store in Edgewood, Texas.  She died on May 2, 2009.
