Collection Historical Note
American Legion is known as the Legion. It is a nonprofit organization in the United States. It is an organization for U.S. war veterans. It is headquarters in Indianapolis, Indiana. The organization was formed in Paris, France on March 15, 1919 by officers and the American Expeditionary Forces (A.E.F.). The United States Congress chartered it on September 16, 1919.
