Scope and Contents of the Materials

A collection of publications concerning the University of North Texas (a Bulletin from 1943) and two issues of the North Texan (October 1967 and June 1972). There is also a commencement invitation from 1944.

Collection Historical Note

Martha Jo Land was the daughter of Frank B. Land and Lola Irene Land. She lived from  February 17, 1923 to October 3, 2011. In 1944, Land graduated from North Texas State Teachers College (now the University of North Texas) with a Bachelor of Business Administration. She married Ernie Pyles and worked as a secretary for Dow Chemical Company in Lindale, Texas.
