Abstract

These prints were collected by bookseller Emerich P. Korecz and donated to the University of North Texas by Jeane Dixon.

Scope and Contents of the Materials

This collection of prints showcases a number of printmaking processes such as etching, engraving, and lithography.

Most of the prints have been indivdually described in this finding aid by students of AEAH 4844/5844: History of Prints, Spring 2015 under the direction fo Dr. Kelly Donahue-Wallace at the University of North Texas. Descriptive elements identified by the students include the title and date of the print, dimensions of the sheet and the image (in centimeters); the designer, printmaker, and printer and/or publisher of each print (including nationality, dates of activity, and location); the prinkmaking process used; any signature and/or inscription present in the image; and a brief statement about its condition. Not all elements will be present for each print.

Biographical Note

Jeane Dixon (1904 -1997) was born Lydia Emma Pinckert to Gerhart and Emma Pinckert in Medford Wisconsin. She was raised in Missouri and California. Her husband was James Dixon. They ran a real estate business. She was the author of seven books (A Gift of Prophecy; Yesterday, Today, and Forever; Astrological Cookbook; The Call to Glory; My Life and Prophecies; A Gift of Prayer; Do Cats Have ESP). However, she is best remembered as a psychic. Richard Nixon followed her predictions. She also gave advice to Nancy Reagan. She died on January 25, 1997 at the age of 93.
