Scope and Contents of the Materials

This collection contains photographs spanning the bombing of Pearl Harbor to daily life in wartime for Texans in 1941 as used in or as research for the 1991 book 1941: Texas Goes to War, published by UNT Press.

Collection Historical Note

1941: Texas Goes to War is a published collection of essays discussing the role of Texans in World War II with photographic illustrations. The essays describe military and social aspects of World War II, as well as Texas soldiers and citizens on the homefront. The book's full text is available in The Portal to Texas History.
