Name: Dr. Garry Landreth

Historical Note:

Garry L. Landreth earned his bachelor’s degree at Southeastern State College(1958), his master’s and doctor’s degrees at the University of New Mexico (1962 and 1966).  Dr. Landreth began teaching in the UNT College of Education in 1967.  In 1988 he founded the Center for Play Therapy, part of the Department of Counseling and Higher Education in the College of Education.  Dr. Landreth is Director Emeritus of the Association for Play Therapy.  Dr. Landreth is the author of Play Therapy: the Art of the Relationship, Child Parent Relationship Therapy (CPRT) : A 10-Session Filial Therapy Model and Child Parent Relationship Therapy (CRPT) Treatment Manual.  Dr. Landreth received the following awards:
