Name: Sandy King

Historical Note: Sandy King, a native of Louisiana, was educated in Canada, Belgium, and Spain.  He eventually earned a Ph.D in Spanish Literature from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. As a professor of history of photography, he published The Photographic Impressionists of Spain: A History of the Aesthetics and Techniques of Pictorial Photography (1989); Schmidt de las Heras: Fotograffas, 1944-1960 (1999), and El imresionismo fotografico en Espana: Una hisotria de la tecnica y de la estectica de la fotograffa pictorialista (2000). Mr. King is interested in working as a fine art photographer.  His work reflects his interest in hand-made photographs using historical printing processes (carbon transfer, kaliltype, platinum and palladium, and Vandyke.
