Historical Note: WBAP's first broadcast occurred on May 2, 1922. For decades, it shared a frequency with radio station WFAA in Dallas, famously marking the daily handoff between stations with a cowbell. From 1948 until 1974, the radio station shared call letters with WBAP-TV, now KXAS.
